As told by S.E. Garrison, D.V.M.
It's been said that if you don't where you're from, it's hard to know who you are-- clearly, Stanley, "Doc" Garrison is from Burnt Hills, New York.
Born on his family's farm on March 15, 1918, Doc became the fifth generation of Garrisons to live and thrive in southwest Saratoga County. From the beginning, Burnt Hills was in his blood.
In the tradition of James Herriot's All Creatures Great and Small comes Garrison's Burnt Hills Veterinary Tails, a lifetime of stories and memories spanning his childhood on the farm, how he came to practice veterinary medicine, and the unforgettable adventures over the course of his thirty-four year veterinary career.
From Rabies to Milk Fever, alligators in bathtubs to cigarette smoking chimpanzees, Garrison, with his wife Shirley and three daughters by his side, has seen it all. Often moving, often humorous, always extraordinary, this collection is a sensitive, delightful and engaging insider's look into the world of a country vet.
